Abstract

The definite and indefinite forms are found in the most languages of the world, but the difference appears in these languages in terms of the use of these tools. Some of them are used at the beginning of the word, for example, the Arabic language, while the others at the end of the words. There are many tools for definite form in the Arabic language. But this research chooses one of these for the study, which is the definite sign-Alif and Lam. However, the research “Using Arabic definite sign `Alif and Lam` among Bangladeshi Contemporary Writers” aims to inform learners of the Arabic language -especially Non-Arab Arabic learners- about this definite sign and its uses in different ways. For this, the research is expected to guide those learners to use this linguistic phenomenon correctly in their both speaking and writing. In this paper, the study is accomplished relying on the samples taken from Bangladeshi writers who practice the Arabic language in various educational institutions such as Madrasahs (religious schools), public and private universities, and others.
